Where should I measure contrast on a gradient?

Measure at the point where contrast is weakest, not where it is strongest. For a dark-to-light gradient with white text, the weakest point is the lightest area. Our tool samples multiple points and reports the minimum ratio, which is the value that determines whether the design passes WCAG criteria.
